The Weather Report: iv.

What is true love?

Love that goes halfway,
love that cannot find
the muster to go the
extra mile when need be
is not love at all.

Love that doesn't take risks,
doesn't answer the beckoning
call to serve, lead the way
isn't love at all.

Love that cannot find
a sure footing, an unswerving
foundation on which it can stand
isn't love at all.

Love that only pays lip service
to a special someone,
never truly means the words
it says out loud -
how could it be love at all.

How could it be otherwise:
love that takes risks,
lives in sincerity,
finds a secure place
on which it can stand
unshaken -

now that
is truly love at heart,
love to live for,
to represent wholeheartedly
for life.

The Weather Report: iii.

Looking out the window: it's been
a month & two weeks
since I last set foot in this neighborhood.
Yet it seems like an eternity,
two years, two hours...
How long has it truly been
since I last found the strength
to say the words
you've been waiting to hear?

How long have I struggled
to articulate these words,
to honestly say how much
you are loved & appreciated?
It took some time, some tears,
some questioning
but now I found the confidence
to show my love,
my support like no other
has been able to do as yet.

Soon I'll need to step outside,
see the world,
get back in touch
with the love of my life
fearlessly, hopefully.

The Weather Report: ii.

How could it be otherwise:
Love of this magnitude
was never designed
for four years alone.

Love of this magnitude
was meant to be for life.
How hard
it must be
for some duders to know /
comprehend this simple fact.

They don't know what it means
just to keep this love going,
to sustain it wholeheartedly:
Let me tell you,
keeping this love fervent
can be a struggle sometimes.

It could never be otherwise:
to say that such love
could be lived only for the moment,
only for special occasions
is inexcusable.

This is loyalty making itself known -
not lukewarm dedication,
not halfhearted platitudes
but complete commitment
to one love,
one common cause we share.

The Weather Report: i.

Time to start again:
but I'm still keeping on
in my corner,
more steadfast
than I've ever been
in ages.

How could it be
otherwise,
even after all this time?

Where so many others
folded up their tents
& walked away
from the love of their lives
after a few years
I stayed on,
never forgot
just how special
the love of my life
always was to me.

Time to start again:
But no, there is no ending
to this love, this life
living in love.

How could it be otherwise?

Red and Green: v.

Once more
we have returned
to where all the action began,
to where
we first heard about
the man of the hour,
one man
who knows how to
brighten up the days
of many
simply by walking
into a room,

or simply by
wearing their letters.
Now that we've heard
about the amazingness
which has come
to define the man
himself, we also know
just how great he is
in stature as well -

He is a man of character,
a man who is a steadfast
believer in integrity,
loyalty, & following
in the footsteps of his
true peers.

All of the above
leave their mark
in everything he does
& whatever
he does for the most part
is done with a spirit
of selflessness
you just can't overlook.

That's why he's such
a household name around here:
how else would he be
able to make heads turn
with such heartfelt
displays of honesty
& unswerving support?

There is no other way
for one to describe
just how much he regards
the love of his life:
more than words alone
ever could.

Just take a look
at that man out there
shining in those
incandescent colors
you've come to love:
now that's the mark
of someone living
by his word,
following his heart.

Red and Green: iv.

Proof of true love:
it's in the heart
of the man you see
decked out
in letters
other than his own.

Others can
talk up a huge storm
about how much
they "are down
with the love of
their lives."

But how many
of those folks have
you seen
actually show their love
in the little things
which I have made
part of my life's work,
my trademark?

For the record,
a select few.
The rest are all
speaking gibberish.
No wonder, then,
why they don't
wholeheartedly
know what true love
means, what it
truly is.

True love is
not to be found
in just a few words
of print
but it is lived out
on a daily basis.

Where can one
find such love as this?
Look no further
than the heart
of the man who
is decked out in
letters other
than his own.
