Preface

Love like this doesn't shine
its true colors on random occasions
or only
when it wants to:
it shines brightly for life
& during times like these
when I'm giving
out of the goodness of my heart
these gifts of joy & kindness -
that's when
love such as this
really shines through the most.

This is love I can't forget
or sweep under the rug
as something insignificant:
this love was meant to be
lifelong,
something that shows radiantly
in these letters
which I wear
both on my sleeve
& on my heart.
